Getting out of my funk

So for the past week it's been one bad thing after the other, first I got sick, then my son, Keeley, then my husband, then me again. Then we find out that our neighbor (Who just so happen's to be my husband's aunt) has the whooping cough! Ugh so as you can imagine I've been a little preoccupied......but today I finally hopped back on my sewing machine and did some baby-leg making! I still have five more pairs to do, and I ran into a couple complications, but I'm proud of myself

My finished project♥

I meant to post this yesterday and it got away from me, apparently farmville is more addictive than it should be! After hours of fighting with PUL, bobbins, needles, and fleece I finally finished the first diaper I am actually proud of! I have to make a few (minor) adjustments but I do believe I have perfected the diapers I'm going to be using as testers! I'll probably make a few more just so I'm completely happy with the results but it shant be long now!

Revolt of the craft corner

After a VERY long day of Keeley only wanting mommy, and screaming if I wasn't rubbing his tummy (poor little guy's got a tummy bug). We headed to Target to pick up socks (for babylegs) microfiber(diaper inserts) and Joann's for some suedecloth and stuffing, thinking the long 40 minute trip would get him to sleep.....Oh how wrong we were! We ended up only picking up microfiber, spending the rest of our money on tummy medicine and quickly leaving town before stopping at Joann's for anything. Determined to at least get something, after finally getting Keeley to sleep (thank God for gripe water), done I headed over to my "office"  to put together a new prototype diaper, I searched and searched for some soft spare material to use on the inside of the diaper for my baby boy's bum and finally settled on a nice microfleece winter night gown that was beyond hideous but had a good print. I measured it all out and traced everything near to perfectly, that is when my trouble began..... My handy dandy marker decided not to be too handy, and I ended up marking more of myself than the material. Then, after cutting everything I realized that the serging on the microfleece was coming off so to the sewing machine I went! This is when Domino, my sewing machine, (yes I am so geeky that I have named my machine) decided to poop out. The thing is barely a week old and is now refusing to catch the bottom thread, I spent an hour hunched over my desk trying to get a good catch on the stupid thing. The ironic part is, it caught perfectly when there was no material on it to sew! So after the longest day and the most challenging day I've had in months, I have decided to call it a night. My husband when I told him it was my turn on the computer
isn't that a lovely face?

Crafty momma

So for the past couple days I have been driven to create things, I have spent a week perfecting a tempate for a new diaper, and making a pocket bear for my baby boy out of an old sweater. I think my new found crafting propulsion is fueled by my homesickness

It's always hard to leave behind the ones you love and I guess after four months I still miss my home town. Deep down I'm still very much a momma's girl, here's my mom, Dorothy, holding my newest of five neices, Genesis, my neice, Iosha, and my son and I.
I left all of this behind and moved five hours away to a small town surrounded by cities instead of mountains, it's taken some time but I'm finally warming up to this strange land
Keeley seems to like it too♥
